Request and Complaint Procedure
- Anyone has the right to request UKW to ensure digital accessibility of a specific website, mobile application, or element of a website or mobile application, or to provide access through an alternative means, for example, by reading a digitally inaccessible document or describing the content of a video without audio description, etc.
- The request mentioned in point 1 should include:
- Contact details of the requesting person;
- Indication of the UKW website, mobile application, or element to be made digitally accessible;
- Indication of the contact method with the requesting person;
- Indication of an alternative method of access, if applicable.
- Digital accessibility of the website, mobile application, or element of the UKW website or mobile application is ensured without undue delay, but no later than 7 days from the date of the request.
- If meeting the deadline mentioned in point 3 is not possible, the public entity will promptly inform the requester about the possibility of fulfilling the request, with the new deadline not exceeding 2 months from the request date.
- If ensuring digital accessibility within the mentioned time frame is not feasible, UKW will promptly notify the requester of the reasons for the delay and the deadline for ensuring accessibility, not exceeding two months from the request date.
- UKW may refuse to ensure digital accessibility if doing so would compromise the integrity or reliability of the conveyed information.
- If the university cannot ensure digital accessibility of an element in question, it will promptly notify the requester of the reasons and indicate an alternative means of access.
- In case of refusal to ensure digital accessibility or to use an alternative access method, the requester has the right to file a complaint regarding the digital accessibility of the website, mobile application, or specified elements. After exhausting the procedure, the requester can also submit a petition to the Ombudsman.
- Complaints related to ensuring digital accessibility are processed under Chapter VIII of the Act of June 14, 1960 - Code of Administrative Procedure (Journal of Laws of 2018, item 2096, and of 2019, items 60 and 730).
